<abstract>This dataset is a polygon shapefile of Assessment Unit waterbodies based on the 1:24,000 High Resolution NHD. It contains all Lake water bodies listed in Montana's 2010 305(b)/303(d) Integrated Water Quality Report. It lists waters which have been assessed as fully supporting all applicable beneficial uses, waters determined to be water quality impaired for one or more beneficial uses, and waters where the information collected to date is not sufficient to complete beneficial use support determinations. The 303(d) List, required by the federal Clean Water Act, focuses on waters in the state which have been assessed as having one or more of their beneficial uses impaired by human-caused pollutants/pollution.</abstract>
<purpose>This dataset allows users to query and display information from Montana's 2010 305(b)/303(d) Integrated Water Quality Report. The Assessment Units are joined to queries and/or tables from our 2010 Assessment Database (ADB). Appropriate for 1:24,000 scale uses.</purpose>
<supplinf>Please note attributes include information regarding: Approved TMDLs, Pollutant Causes, Non-Pollutant Causes, Use Attainments, and other often asked about fields. The entire 2010 ADB database in Microsoft Access .mdb format may be downloaded from the Montana Clean Water Act Informatin Center. The URL for the CWAIC site is www.cwaic.mt.gov. To perform table joins in ArcGIS, the user will need to use the ID305B and Cycle from the ADB tables and the ENTITY_ID and Cycle in this GIS layer. Note: Each Assessment Unit record in all of the ADB tables have a distinct record in each Cycle, because of this both the ID305b and the Cycle is needed to relate these tables to this shapefile.</supplinf>
